Is your Windows XP computer too slow? It may be a software issue. Most computer users have been trained that if you want more speed for your computer, then add more memory. Well, this is true, in certain circumstances. But for most of the times, it really is just a bad file in your registry files. Corrupted or missing registry files can make your Windows XP computer too slow.

It is a simple matter of having missing or corrupt registry files which can cause the XP computer to become slow.

On a first note, the windows XP is a huge collection of data or database which has settings which could be changed by the user and also group of instructions to guide the user accordingly in every step which deals with hardware section, software section, the windows operating system and also the requirements and needs of the user on which he has full access.

The data such as settings and instructions according to which the user makes a preference is often stored in the registry of the computer in the particular case when there are more than one users working on a same computer through different login links. All of the changed settings of computer and modifications in preferences are stored and updated in these registry files only.

One may sometimes wonder as to how the registry gets problematic? The story behind this is that whenever a new program is installed, then one or more of the registry files is made to work with the new program installed by the user. The program which is installed by the user works fully without any problem. One does not become aware of it as he does not need to use it.

In some of the cases, under some situations, there may be a time when one opens up a main program and the registry file needed to run that program goes missing or corrupted which results in hanging down of computer. In such a case, the computer does not know how to work and could not think of an answer to the problem itself. This is part of the problems which happens on a normal note and to almost all the computer users and make the XP windows computer slow.

There may be such events taking place and in such a situation, the user just needs to solve or deal with the registry files. In such cases, always the registry files are involved. It is always better to check the registry files time to time and solve them in case of errors. In my case, there were around 36 errors in the registry files when I checked them a while ago. One may find up to 500 or so errors in a person’s computer. The speed of the computer gets enhanced after these errors get fixed. Also, it is a lot cheaper than getting extra memory space for the computer.

A computer with a very slow startup and working could be maintained with a sample tip. It is needed to run the registry repair software to check for errors in the registry files of the windows. After this, the XP windows computer would have an enhanced speed.
